Books, podcasts, radio, performing and music are my work and passions. I've made programmes for BBC Radio 3 and 4 and – together with producer Sara-Jane Hall – won a Sony Award for BBC Radio 3's The Haunted Moustache. I give talks and perform one-man shows on subjects from the trickster to ghost villages. My latest show, The Cult of Water, is a magical odyssey back in time up the river Don, exploring the myths and legends of our waterways.
I co-host The Odditorium podcast and have made ACE-funded podcast series’ for The Ken Campbell estate, John Higgs’ book Watling Street and my own book, The No9 Bus to Utopia. Other books include The Haunted Moustache, The Odysseum and The Mysterium. I’ve also released six albums with the band Oddfellow's Casino which get woefully overlooked (though we do have a cult following in Estonia). A friend once described me as 'a one-man cottage industry'. I kind of like that.

“The Haunted Moustache is a genuinely marvellous demonstration of how beautifully the mechanism of reality functions, if you're paying sufficient attention. Neurologically, this will light you up like a Christmas tree.”
